What do you carry your books in?

Walking about campus all day with books to carry can be a hassle.  Some people carry totes.  Some people carry book bags. Some people carry backpacks.  What do you use?

7 Quick Hairstyles.

I am always trying to find different ways to fix my hair for whenever I am in a rush.  Sometimes I tend to stumble on different websites that give tips about hair styles, or things to do with your hair if you do not want to wash it — or “have second day hair.”  I am going to post the link to the website at the bottom of the page so that you can check it out yourself, but I am also going to paste the tips on here if you do not feel like going to the site.

Get Rid of Greasy Hair

1. Get Rid of Grease

Beat oily “second day” hair with this easy trick: grab some baby powder if you’re light-haired or matte bronzer if you’re a brunette and apply it to your roots with a big fluffy makeup brush. This absorbs grease and makes your hair look fresh. Then just fix any stray strands with a flat iron; shake out your hair and go.

Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) in a Red Headband

2. Slip on a Headband

For an elegant style that’s so Blair on Gossip Girl, smooth out your hair with a brush, then pull on a wide headband to cover up messier strands and look instantly polished. Try ashiny patent leather headband in an outfit-coordinating shade for a super-trendy look that’s very right-now.

Messy Bun Hairstyle

3. Do a Messy Bun

This is the basic go-to staple for most college girls because it takes two seconds. Gather your hair on top of your head and wrap an elastic band around 2-3 times. Next, shape the bun with a few bobby pins that match your hair color, pull out a few ends to make it messier, and finish with a spray of hairspray.

Asian Inspired Chopstick Hair Bun

4. Try Chopstick Hair

This style only looks difficult.. it’s actually insanely easy to do. If you don’t know how to make a chopstick updo, check out this Youtube tutorial, or for another way to do it, this tutorial. You don’t need actual chopsticks for this look – special hair sticks or even a pencil will work in a pinch.

Serena Van Der Woodsen Chic Ponytail

5. Make a Chic Ponytail

If your hair is curly, use a little anti-frizz cream first. If you have straight locks, scrunch in curl cream to bring out some waves. Tease hair at the crown then pull into a low ponytail. Leave a ½ inch strand out and secure the ponytail with a clear elastic. Wrap the extra strand around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin.

Lauren Conrad (LC) With The Front Hair Poof Hairstyle

6. Do a Front Hair Poof

This popular hairstyle is a great way to hide bangs you might be growing out, and is also very simple to do. Just separate the section of hair from temple to temple, tease it with a fine-toothed comb and secure with two bobby pins in an X. If your hair won’t stay in the bobby pins, tease the section more or use four pins.

Matthew Williamson Inspired Sideways French Braid

7. French Braid Sideways

Inspired by Matthew Williamson, this style is best if you’re good at French braiding, but with practice anyone can do it. Part your hair to the side then French braid across your hairline, securing with a clear elastic. This look is boho chic so leave the rest of your hair messy. If you have natural waves, even better.

vicky secrets: college girl essential.

Victoria’s Secret is the most trending, popular, casual college girl essential.  If you walk around a college campus, you are bound to see at least 10 girls wearing an article of clothing from Victoria’s Secrets PINK collection.  It is very comfortable, and still looks really nice! Especially whenever so many girls on campus work out between class or after, they have nice yoga pants and other bottoms.

Here are a few of my favorite items that are in the collection right now. Take a look and you decide what you think. You can mix these styles into your own. The price ranges around $50, depending on the style and the detail. The price is worth it though because you can wash it 20 times, and the material still holds up. The clothing has a good quality.

Monday School Day.

Normally I write about things that other people wear to school, or what different things are trending right now or things that are cute to wear to school! But today I’m going to turn the tables and show what I wore to school today on this wonderful, sunny Monday!! I liked my outfit that I wore a lot today, and thought maybe I could possibly give you guys an idea for yourselves.

  1. The first picture is a picture of my whole outfit.  Very casual and warm, but also cute.
  2. The second picture is a closer look at the intricate details of my sweater.  It has red and tan colors knitted into the blue. I got the sweater at Forever 21, for about $17.
  3. The bracelets in the next picture I got at Wet Seal on sale for about $2 a piece.  They are very cute, but plain and can worn with about anything.
  4. The skull bracelet pictured in the next photo I adore! It is very feminine, but also has an edge to it.  I got it at Hot Topic for $8.50.
  5. Last, but not least are my tan-floppy-motorcycle boots.  I love these boots! I bought them off the internet at shoedazzle.com for about $39.95, with free shipping!

I hope that you liked my outfit, and maybe gave you a possible idea for what you could do for an easy look that will keep you warm. 🙂

Spring has …ALMOST… Sprung!

In about 3 days, we will be one month away from spring! Even though some days it is a little warmer then normal, its a simple reminder of how close spring (and summer!) are.  My cousin and I went shopping yesterday, and we saw so many different styles coming out for spring.  A lot of pastel colors, navy blue, really bright colors, wedged shoes & lots of stripes!  So I wanted to dedicate this particular blog to all the great items to be on the lookout for in spring (and super cute things to wear to school!).

—————————-

I started off with three different kings of shoes that are going to be very popular for spring.

  1. Tan booties can go with just about anything, they look cute with high waisted shorts, skirts or even skinny jeans if it’s still chilly.
  2. Knits are very popular for spring, and these little blue-knitted ballet flats are perfect for the trend.  They are super cute, and comfortable.
  3. I love wedges! They look good with just about everything you put them with.  These floral wedges are also very cute, I saw them in black with fusion and light pink flowers also.

Next I put some dresses and skirts together for some great looks for the spring.

  1. Floral can be hard for some people to wear because they do not know how to wear it.  This dress, however, would benefit a lot of different body types because of the longer sleeves and the area around the chest.  Plus the color is great.
  2. These maxi skirts I have been seeing a lot of.  This one in particular is sheer, navy blue, polka-dots.  It has a shorter skirt underneath, and the longer part is the sheer part.  I really like these because they are very different, but still cute …I have yet to see someone wear one.
  3. Lace is very popular right now, which is fine with me because I love to wear lace. It is very feminine and pretty.  This baby doll, cream, lace shirt is a good choice when wearing lace.  Remember, only wear one piece at a time though …don’t wear too much lace at one time.
  4. Browsing around different stores in the mall, I saw soooo many articles of clothing with stripes on it! Stripes are a trend that seems to be around every season, but in different ways.      This skirt is a navy blue (which is also very popular right now) bodycon skirt that can be paired with a flowy top, or a shirt tucked in.
  5. Oh how I love fringe.  I do not wear it often because it can be difficult to wear with certain other items.  You don’t want to look too over the top, but worn in the right way it can be super cute.  With this particular fringe skirt, I love it because I have never really seen fringe being worn this way.  I like how in this picture they have it paired with a matching color pair of shoes with a knitted cream top …just enough texture.
  6. Embroidered tops are very cute, plus with the lace at the bottom makes this one a winner!

Colored pastel pants and high-waisted shorts/pants are super popular for spring.  I saw them in every store that I went into! In my opinion, high-waisted items look best on girls who have long torsos and short legs because it elongates their legs.

  1. Miranda Kerr pulled this look off awesome!  I love how she paired the salmon-pastel colored pants with the green bag, and plain-colored white top.  Pastels are every where this spring!
  2. These shorts are similar to the pants in the last picture, however, they are shorts! These high-waisted shorts are very cute, I like them a lot.
  3. Here we have high-waisted jean shorts …which can be worn a lot of different ways.  I like how they paired these ones with the white shirt.

Last we have two different dresses that are showing the color blocked style.

  1. First we have a whole outfit surrounding the color blocked dress.  This one has different colors within it with a black border surrounding each color.   They matched it with white sunglasses, a pink purse and black heels.  I really like this outfit and the bright colors
  2. Second we have a black and white color blocked dress.  I think that this dress has a very classy look to it.  It is different from the first, but just as cute.
